Character Meet and Greet

Magic Kingdom Characters

Mickey and his friends appear near City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. throughout the day. Alice and her Wonderland friends appear in Fantasyland throughout the day, as does Ariel. The Fantasyland Character Festival is a great place to see Characters with a set time and location. Of course, there is always the option to go to a Character meal at The Crystal Palace, Cinderella's Royal Table and Liberty Tree Tavern. But you can always see Disney Characters at their home in Mickey's Toontown Fair. Park guidemaps have all the information.

Pixie Hollow at Mickey's Toontown Fair

A magical forest will gradually shrink guests down to fairy size as they enter Pixie Hollow, a special place deep in the heart of Never Land, where a baby's first laugh brought Tinker Bell to life.  As Guests hear Tinker Bell speak for the first time, they also are sure to meet one or more of her fairy friends:

  • Fawn, an animal fairy
  • Iridessa, a light fairy
  • Rosetta, a garden fairy
  • Silvermist, a water fairy

Magic Your Way Quick Service Meal Plan

(1 Vote)

New for 2009 Walt Disney World now has a Quick Service Meal Plan for those guests who are not looking for table service meals offered by the previous meal plans. Disney is advertising that you can save up to 20% with this option.

Here's what you get per person:

  •  2 Quick (Counter) service meals That's two meals that can be used for breakfast lunch and/or Dinner at participating quick service restaurants for each night of stay.
  •  2 Snacks per night of stay
  • 1 resort refillable drinking cup (Good for free soda/coffee at your home resort, not usable in the parks)

Tips for saving the most money with this plan:

  • As with any plan make sure you do your best to use all of the plan meals.  The single biggest mistake you can make is not using all the meals and snacks - it's like throwing your money away!
  • Save the deserts as snacks to use in-between meals or at night
  • If you have an extra meal and can't use it due to your travel plans try using it late at night for that midnight snack, many of the quick service restaurants are open late at the resorts.
  • Buy Disney themed snacks with your snack coupons and take them home as gifts for friends or coworkers rather than not using them. Mickey icon Rice Crispies for example make a nice thank you for the neighbor's kid who is taking in your mail.
  • Choose wisely -  Some entree's are much more expensive than others, if you want to get the most out of the meal plan check out the menus and prices before you go and decide which counter service restaurant has the meals your family wants to eat at the highest prices to maximize your savings and accommodate picky eaters.
  • Also consider the deserts and if they are portable, they can make a great in-between meal or bedtime snack.
  • Always choose the large drink size, it's included but you may not get it if you don't ask.

Magic Your Way Disney Dining Plan

(3 Votes)

The Disney Dining Plan in 2009 is pretty much the same as it was in 2008 no Appetizer and no Tip included in the plan. Disney advertises you can save up to 30% on your meals using the plan and you can save quite a bit as long as you use all the meal plan options and plan your meals out.  Since your here planning you vacation chances are you can save money with it!

Here's what you do get Per Person per night of stay:

  • 1 Table service meal at a participating restaurant
  • 1 quick service (counter service) meal at participating restaurants.
  • 1 Snack

Some General Tips when using this plan:

  • Make sure you have reservations for all of your table service meals, not using a meal is a big waste of money and is one of the biggest mistakes you can make.  You can make reservations up to 90 days ahead of your trip and when you book through us we can do this for you.  Don't assume you can walk up and get into a table service restaurant when you want to especially in the parks and the resorts along the Monorail as they book up fast!  In fact we often reccomend booking an extra reservation just in case you miss one earlier in the trip.
  • You can use the Snacks for breakfast or buy snacks that you can pack and take home for later or to give as gifts to friends or for the office.
  • Save your Table service meals for Dinner as Dinner menus are generally the same as the lunch menu only more expensive.
  • Save your deserts from the quick service meals even if your not hungry, they can make a great breakfast or late night snack.

For a complete list of participating restaurants and details about the plan please see the Magic Your Way Dining plan brochure.  (PDF file)
