Disney reports that several attractions inside the Fantasyland region of the Magic Kingdom theme park in Orlando will close starting today (April 12). The closed area will undergo renovations as part of Fantasyland's expansion that will debut in 2013. The shuttered attractions include Ariel's Grotto, Pooh's Playful Spot, and the Scuttle's Landing snack area.
Ariel will still appear in the daily Celebrate a Dream Come true Parade, SpectroMagic Parade, and can also be seen at Disney Hollywood Studios in the Voyage of the Little mermaid attraction. Ariel will be getting a new meet and greet area and a new ride though attraction in the Magic Kingdom currently titled Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid.
We will continue to update our clients on future closing and changes as they are announced.
